Friday, June 30, Let's eat...

At our writing workshops we write, we read, we create, we perform but it wouldn't be a workshop out of this world if we didn't eat and cook!

Today Miss Frances talked about fruit in the middle ages. The people back then didn't eat raw fruit because they thought that they poisonous. All the fruit were cooked and they were added to everything. Honey was also popular back then. Cooked fruit and honey were included in all their dishes. The only fruits that had available to them at the time were apples, pears and grapes. A little later, oranges were brought back for one of the kings. We decided to eat our fruit raw today! Many of us learned how to peel oranges and use a knife to cut fruit and not our fingers.
It wasn’t easy but we quickly forgot our hardship when we ate. Hhmmm, they taste pretty good too!
